Season Review 2019/20 – U14 Boys

New players to strengthen the squad

After a rebuilding season last year this season bought a lot of hope that we could have a real good push for promotion. We beat 2 teams a division above us in pre season friendlies. We also re signed Deano and signed Maciey and Alex which only strengthened our team. We started the season off with a last minute defeat against Teviot but then went on a 7 game unbeaten run that saw us go top in early December.

Injury hits the team

The only sour note during this time was losing Aaron for the season with a grade 4 tear in his kidney after a freak accident while beating Russtlers away. The boys then had a run of really tough games seeing us lose 3 of the next 5 games 2 of which being against the strongest 2 teams in the league. We then won 3 on the bounce including a thrilling 5-4 win away to Danson in which we scored 2 in the last 10 minutes. Our final game was a loss to Swanscombe Tigers.

Looking forward to next season & more success

It’s a frustrating end to the season as we only had teams below us to play and we could have pinched 3rd spot. Still with the top 2 both undefeated all season and surely getting promoted next season brings loads of promise.
